Good to Know

Haskaps need two different varieties for pollination, so most gardeners plant them in pairs.

Saskatoons are one of the most beloved fruits of the Canadian Prairies, the true prairie berry. These berries have a sweet flavour with hints of almond and are perfect for baking.

Good to Know

Saskatoon bushes can live 40–50 years and often become the centerpiece of a backyard berry patch. You only need 1 plant to produce fruit

Good to Know

Unlike many fruit trees, these cherries are self-fertile, meaning one plant can produce fruit.

Planting Tip
  • Plant in full sun. The more shade, the less fruit.

  •  Water well first year (Moist, not dripping wet), you want to build those roots. 

  • Year 2 on watering is still super important

  • Fertility:  Add compost yearly, or use a classic  20-20-20, follow product instructions

  •  Expect fruit
